I am not a singer and have absolutely no experience with microphones or vocal harmony. Fortunately, however, there are many people who do and several have been kind enough to write an article to help others take advantage of Yamaha's vocal harmony.

Vocal Settings

Gary Diamond, who gigs regularly and sings all the time, explains the importance of the microphone and how to use the mic settings feature in "Vocal Settings for the PSR-2000, PSR-2100, and Tyros." The Tyros was the most recent keyboard when this article was written, but the advice may hold equally true for subsequent models.

Mic Settings

Years after the above article, Gary provides additional notes on mic settings and stresses the importance of your own vocal characteristics as well as the technical settings of the microphone.

EQ for Vocal Harmony

Leo Dunne, who performs regularly in Ireland, encountered many problems in setting his Tyros microphone settings. Until he discovered how important the EQ settings are to getting the microphone right. He explains his settings in his "Tyros EQ Settings for Vocal Harmony Clarity."

Vocal Harmony Primer

Dan Rymut has written a "Vocal Harmony Primer -- Some Thoughts on Using the Yamaha Onboard Vocal Harmonizer". Whether you are new to the vocal harmonizer features or an experienced singer, you will benefit from the many tips and examples provided by Dan. If you are just beginning, this is a good place to start.
