Musical Background
(September, 2011) Hi everybody, I am Patricia Harman. I live in Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex, U.K. and, at present, have the Tyros3 keyboard
Where do I begin? I am 73 years of age and a music fanatic. I love to experiment with Styles etc to see how I can make them sound a bit different, hence my slightly bizarre arrangements.
I was born in the West End of London and grew up during World War 2. My playgrounds were bomb sites. I had the privilege of making a recording with the Nat Gonella band, singing Mairzy Doats and to this day I still remember the words as my mother made me rehearse constantly. I must have been 3 or 4 years old.
I stayed, during my infancy, in Conway Hall in Central London where my Grandparents were managers. Lots of famous entertainers and film stars were present, so it was an exciting place to be, especially later, when I grew up and once came face-to-face with Errol Flynn.
My Father had a band but, sadly, died at sea during the war. My memory of him was sitting at our piano and playing My Darling Clementine, although his Signature Tune, with the band, was Tiger Rag. I have been married twice and have two children and two grand-children, all grown up now. I live on my own in an apartment, which was converted from a convent. I hope the ghosts of the nuns like my music though.
