PSR Member Map imageWhen you first access the PSR Tutorial Member map, it looks something like the image you see here (reduced in size). Use the [+] and [-] signs in the lower right-hand corner to zoom in or out. You can also use the scroll bar on your mouse to enlarge or shrink the map. To move the map, put your cursor on the map, "grab" the image by clicking and holding and then move in whatever direction you want. Click on any pin to reveal information about the member represented by that pin.

Add Entry screenTo add your own pin to the map, click on the circled plus sign in the upper-right hand corner. This opens up the "Add Entry" dialog box. The first tab is "Location" and here is where you add your "Name" and location. The name will show when someone mouses over your pin. You do not have to put your full name. You enter your address in the Location field. If you put in a street address, it will not be shown to others. Alternatively, you can select a location on the map and put your pin directly on the map. Finally, the "Keyboard" field lets you select your general keyboard model (Tyros, PSR-S, PSR-E, PSR, Genos, CVP, or DGX). If this is all the information you want to provide, you can press the "Submit" button at the bottom to submit your entry.

Entry Added noticeThis is a CRITICALLY IMPORTANT screen. Note that it provides a URL (highlighted in the image) that you require if you wish to be able to come back and EDIT your pin information. Once you press the Submit button, you will not be able to edit your pin info. To make additional changes, you would need to put that URL into your browser.

If you did not examine the tabs for "Details" and "Media", you would have to revisit your pin to make changes. So, if you saved that URL into a text file where you can copy it, you can then then paste it into your browser URL window (note that everyone's URL will be unique to their particular pin).

URL to edit pin

Change LocationThat URL takes you to our map on the ZeeMaps server and opens up a "Change Entry" dialog box for your pin. It is open to the "Location" tab that you originally filled out. In our example, I entered only a city and state so the Address and Postal Code fields are blank. If you are in a big city with a lots of members, you could enter a Postal Code or street name to move your pin closer to your actual location.

Change DetailsThis image shows the fields under the "Details" tab. By entering your Forum UserID, other members are able to send you a message via the forum e-mail system. You can list all the keyboards you may have and if you have a website, you can put the URL in the website field. The Description field can be used for any additional info you may want to provide by any forum member who wants to send you an email.

Change Media tabThe third tab allows you to add media to your pin info. You can add a photo, an MP3, and/or a YouTube video. In this example, I used the Browse... option to select an image from my computer for the photo. That browse option will also work for an MP3 although if there is a size limit, I don't know what it is. If your MP3 is already on the internet, you could enter the URL for that file.

With all my edit in place, I could click the "Submit" button to enter and save all these changes. Note that I could change my mind and simply close the dialog box. You also have the option of deleting your pin entirely by pressing that "Delete" button.

Finished PinWith the above edits in place, this is what your pin info would look like if someone clicked on your pin. If you wanted to make additional edits from here, you would double-click on your name to open the edit screen again. This would only work if you had used your saved URL to visit the ZeeMaps version and were editing your pin. You could not edit the pin from the PSR Tutorial version of the map.

Member Lists - Note that in the upper-lefthand corner of the map is a button showing two greater than signs [>>]. Clicking on that button will open up an alphabetical list of all the "names" in the map. Clicking on any name takes you directly to that person's pin info.

Keyboard Filtering - On the bottom of the map, you see the various keyboard models. Initially, they are all checked and so all pins are showing. However, if you uncheck "All" and put a check on "Tyros", you will only see pins where "Tyros" was selected as the primary keyboard model.

Searching - In the upper righthand corner is a magnifying glass that lets you search all the pins by looking for a field with certain values. For example, if you searched for "Keyboard" fields that contain a "5", you would find Tyros5, Tyros 5, Tyros 5-61, PSR-S950, etc.
