This PSR Tutorial Songs 2015-2014 Collection includes 1,186 songs (MP3 format) -- 62 hours of listening pleasure. 57 performers contributed to this song collection and 17 Yamaha keyboards are represented. All of these songs appeared on the PSR Tutorial web site in 2015 or 2014, but many are or will be archived and available only in this song collection.
These songs can be played in your computer (Windows or Mac) as well as on many mobile devices (such as iPads and iPods). They also can be played on recent Yamaha arranger keyboards (Genos, Tyros5, Tyros4, PSR-SX900, PSR-S975, PSR-S970, PSR-S950, PSR-S910).
All songs have been normalized to a common volume level. This means that you do not have to continually adjust your speakers for songs that are too loud or too soft.
All MP3 filenames reflect the name of the song itself. Appended to each song name are one or more codes indicating information about the performance.
- "_c" indicates that this is an original song by the performer.
- "_v" indicates the song includes a vocal.
- "-PPKK" provides a 2 (or 3) letter abbreviation for the performer and a 2-letter abbreviation for the keyboard.
For example, a file named "Strangers In The Night-EM3k.mp3" would represent the song, Stranger in the Night, recorded by Ernie Mulder (EM) on his PSR-3000 (3k). See tables below for performer and keyboard abbreviations.)
Since these are MP3 files, they also can contain song information. For all songs, the "Contributing Artist" field holds the name of the performer. For regular songs, the "Album" field contains the name of the keyboard used. For Christmas songs, the "Album" field indicates whether this was from the 2015 or 2014 Christmas Jukebox and the "Genre" field shows the name of the keyboard.
Christmas Songs - 181 songs are drawn from the PSR Tutorial Christmas Jukeboxes in 2015 and 2014. These songs are in the "_Christmas" folder. 15 PSR Tutorial Forum members and 18 PSR Performers contributed to these holiday song collections. The Christmas songs take up 723 MB or storage and provide almost 9 hours of holiday music from around the world.
Other Songs - The remaining 1,008 songs are listed alphabetically in a series of alphabetical folders (A-C, D-H, I-L, M-Q, R-S, and T-Z). While a computer folder can easily handle a thousand plus files, your Yamaha keyboard folders are more restricted. That is why, for convenience, these songs were organized into subfolders.
The contents of the collection are detailed in several pdf files as well as a Microsoft Excel file found in the "_Docs" folder.
"Songs, by Title”
Available as a PDF file and a Microsoft Excel file, these documents list all the songs alphabetically by song title, which mirrors the file name. Included for each song is the name of the performer, the keyboard used, and the length (in minutes) of the song. Note that the “Songs By Title” pdf file is 33 pages when printed out.

A separate “xmas Songs by Title” pdf file lists only the 181 Christmas songs,
There is also a Microsoft Excel file that lists the Songs by Title. It shows the the keyboard, performer, and minutes for each MP3 file.
“Songs, by Performer”
This pdf file lists song information alphabetically by performing artist. The "PSR Performers" have their own PSR Performer page in the Performers section of the PSR Tutorial web site. You can find additional MP3 and/or midi songs on their Performer page as well as a short musical biography and a picture of the Performer. Performers not currently listed in the current Performer's section, can be found in the Archived Performers section.
The PSR Performer table shown on the right lists each PSR Performer, the abbreviation used for that performer, and the number of songs in the collection by that performer. 94% of the songs in this collection are from the PSR Performers.
Every year, PSR Tutorial Forum members are invited to contribute to a Christmas Concert with songs for the holiday. In these two years 15 contributors added their songs to the PSR Performers for the annual Christmas concert.

“Songs by Keyboard”
This pdf file lists song information alphabetically by Keyboard. 15 Yamaha arranger keyboards are included in this song collection. You will also find songs recorded on the Yamaha CVP-301 and CVP-605. The number of songs by keyboard, as well as the 2-character keyboard abbreviation, are shown in the table below.
The chart below shows the number of songs by keyboard with the keyboards listed from the newest arranger keyboards back to earlier models. In this collection, 79% of the songs were recorded on four models -- Tyros5, Tyros4, PSR-S950/750, and PSR-S910/S710.
The table below shows the year when top level and midrange Yamaha arranger keyboards were introduced. Since these are songs submitted in 2015 and 2014, there are no Genos, PSR-S975 or PSR-SX900 models included. The models shown in the chart above accounted for the vast majority (95%) of songs in this collection.
Using This Collection
Most PCs provide software to play MP3s. Double-clicking on any song is likely to launch that software and play the song. However, your PC may also include a music database program, such as iTunes, and all of the MP3s can be loaded into your music database program. Each song includes song data indicating the performer and the keyboard used.
