Tyros5 / Tyros2
(November, 2010) I live in Cape Town, South Africa. I have been married to Margaret for 31 years. My two sons are grown up and I have two grandchildren. Born in '54 so I am 56 now (Classic going on Vintage). Grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa. My day job is to sell software for IBM. I have been with them for 11 years now. Before that I was a partner in a business that developed business software.
My performing name - Jimmy Gee; Permanent gig at my home studio . Never take my Tyros 2 anywhere else.
I Learned to play the acoustic guitar in my teens. Played electric bass in a band in my twenties. Sold all my equipment when I was 30 -- my first son arrived and we needed the money. Sometime in the late 80's, my business partner left a very small battery operated 1-octave Casio toy at my home. It had 12 styles and 6 voices, one month later he came back and took it. The next week I went and bought a Yamaha (6100 - I think). Since then I have had a string of keyboards. I was a Roland fan for a while and then went from Roland E86 to Yamaha Tyros 2, and everything changed. I hope to get a T4 soon, but will need to sell a lot of software to buy it. I also play guitar, I have an electric (Ibanez) and an acoustic.
I tend to play Jazz on the keyboard - traditional and fusion. Guitar tends to be Blues and Light Jazz with the keyboard providing the backing tracks.
Note: in 2015, James moved up to a Tyros5.
