(Aug, 2005) I started playing the piano when I was about six, and my parents had me take piano lessons. That didn't work out. I was too lazy and never learned to read music. I found it's more fun to just let myself play, without staring at a piece of paper to figure out what note to play next. I just "knew". Whatever

In the early 80's I got a primitive Casio keyboard that had maybe 10 different styles, and I guess that's when my "arranger keyboard career" began. During the years I went through several Casio models, until a few years ago I discovered the PSR-2000 at a local store. They also had a Tyros that I tested, but I knew I could only dream. The most amazing thing about these keyboards was the built-in Vocoder, and the idea of a "one man band" fascinated me. I ended up getting the PSR-2000 and also started to sing. Again, I never took singing lessons or anything, just bought a microphone, hooked it to the PSR-2000 and off I went.

By the time the PSR-3000 was released, I had already gotten pretty much everything I could out of the PSR-2000 and I wanted more. I've now have had the PSR-3000 for about a year, and done a few live gigs with it (wedding, parties, etc.). It really sounds amazing, and the feedback I'm getting is encouraging me to perform more. Now there's talk of a Tyros 2 in a few months time. I have given into my fate, I know I cannot sleep thinking what it will be capable of so I will sell my car if I have to. I'm planning on doing a website with some samples and get into some serious performing next year, probably at weddings and such. Let's see how it all goes!

UPDATE 7th November 2005! I have now had my Tyros2 for about a week, and it is truly amazing. The new instrument sounds and responsive key feel really make this machine every performer's dream, amateur and pro alike! Stay tuned for more volumes from me for the Tyros2!
